FISHING TECHNIQUES
We mainly do jigging. For this, we use speed jigs and slow jigs with weights between 80g and 200g, depending on the water depth. When there’s activity at the surface, we troll for wahoo, tuna and other species.
BOAT RIDE
The trip on the boat "Elmo" can get a bit bumpy in the middle of the Atlantic when the wind is blowing and the waves are high. But the 100-horsepower engine on the 6-meter-long boat gets us safely back to port.
Where we fish
We set out from the harbor in Los Gigantes and usually head toward the Teno Lighthouse. That’s where the best spots for amberjacks, sea bream, and other predatory fish are.
Strong Atlantic-Predators
Amberjacks up to 80 kg, sea bream with 10 kg or more, small tuna such as bonito or sierra, wahoo, barracuda, and Canarian GT. The atlantic waters are teeming with a wide variety of species.
Understanding the Ocean
Tenerife is practically in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. The sea can get very rough here. It is absolutely essential to have the necessary safety equipment and to plan carefully before setting out.
